TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: "Study to establish the distribution of statistics in the measurements of errors of solar collectors".



DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION: 1 full-time contract as a researcher for the aforementioned project, within the framework of a contract between ITMATI (Technological Institute of Industrial Mathematics) and a company in the energy sector.

The candidate / has selected should develop a line of research related to the methodological development in the area of ​​quality control based on several measurements that may be correlated. In this context new methods will be proposed that will be studied from a theoretical point of view and / or validated by simulation studies. Finally, its operation will be verified in the real problem that this project addresses.



MAIN RESEARCHER: Professor Dr. Javier Roca Pardiñas, Professor at the University of the University of Vigo, and researcher assigned to ITMATI.



PROFILES OF THE CANDIDATES: Graduates, graduates, engineers, masters and doctors in Mathematics, Statistics or other similar qualifications, with knowledge in methodology and statistical computing.



MERITS AND REQUIREMENTS TO BE VALUED:

* Training and general experience to assess (60 points, all contributions must be documented).

o Academic record of the degree, undergraduate, engineering, master's and / or doctorate.

o Specific training (degree, bachelor's degree, master's degree, etc.) in the area of ​​Statistics and Operations Research.

o Research experience endorsed by relevant publications in journals in the area of ​​Statistics.

o Knowledge and previous experience in the development of statistical algorithms.

o Knowledge and previous experience in the use of statistical software R.

o Knowledge of English.

* Knowledge and additional and specific experience to assess (25 points, all contributions must be documented).

o Knowledge and previous experience in methodological developments related to quality control.

o Experience in methodological implementation and statistical software.

* Personal interview (15 points).

Candidates who achieve the best ratings according to the above criteria will be invited to a personal interview. At least the three best rated candidates will be interviewed.



WORKS TO REALIZE:

* Methodological development in the area of ​​quality control for correlated measurements.

* Theoretical study of the methods developed.

* Validation of the methods through simulation studies.



PLACE OF WORK: Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, Campus Lagoas-Marcosende of the University of Vigo, Vigo (Spain).
